In this article you can find the instruction documents for both paper-based and computer-based tests for the November 2021 session.
These documents contain vital information about what to do on the day of the test and, for computer-based tests, what you need to do to prepare before the test day.
Everyone involved with the administration of the test has to familiarise themselves with the contents of the relevant documents and adhere to these regulations and processes.
General topics covered in the documents are:
- test duration
- exam room set-up
- authorised/unauthorised materials
- checking candidate IDs
- instructions for candidates
For paper-based tests
Please click the link to download the document:
In addition to the general topics, these instructions also contain information on:
- opening and distributing test papers
- use of word processor as an access arrangement
- packing and returning exam materials after the test
Instructions for registering and booking a courier collection using MyDHL+ can be found here. You will need to log in to the support site to view the article containing the DHL return instructions, as this contains sensitive information.
For computer-based tests
There are two documents for computer-based tests, please click the links to download:
The first document contains instructions on what needs to be done ahead of test day to prepare for administering the tests on the BTL Surpass platform, including
- getting started with Surpass
- installing SecureClient
- printing invigilation packs and keycode slips
- downloading a test onto SecureClient
- setting up the room
The second document contains instructions for the test day itself, including
- starting the test in SecureClient
- pausing and resuming the tests in an emergency
Both documents for the computer-based tests also contain emergency contact details for BTL, who will be able to provide technical assistance with the BTL Surpass platform.
You can also download and print the Notice to candidates document from this article.
Copies of these documents must be available to the invigilators in every exam room to ensure test day regulations are adhered to.
The Handbook for Centres can be found in this section of the support site - we no longer provide a downloadable copy of the Handbook and there is no requirement for you to keep a printed version in the test room.
